Life Restart - Business Partnerships

Participating Businesses (Life Restart Partners)

The following framework describes the process through which businesses may become part of the Life Restart network, as well as the core principles governing participation in the Life Restart initiative.

Scope of Application

The Life Restart Partners network concerns businesses operating in the fields of accommodation and nature-based activities.
Collaboration is intended for businesses that are able to support experiences aligned with the principles and philosophy of Life Restart, contributing to the development of activities and experiences that strengthen the connection with nature and encourage meaningful human interaction.

The designation Life Restart Partner confirms the business’s collaboration within the framework of Life Restart and does not constitute a general certification of the business.

Initiation of the Collaboration Process

A business may enter the collaboration process with Life Restart in two ways:
  • through a formal request submitted by the business itself
  • through a collaboration proposal initiated by Life Restart to a business that may be considered suitable for the network

A collaboration proposal issued by Life Restart does not constitute an evaluation or pre-approval of the business. It simply represents an invitation to initiate an exploratory process regarding the potential for collaboration. In all cases, inclusion in the network takes place only after the completion of the evaluation process and the business’s compliance with the collaboration standards established by Life Restart.

Indicative Collaboration Criteria

The evaluation of a business is based on a combination of operational, qualitative, and environmental parameters.
Indicatively, the following aspects are examined:
  • the compatibility of the business activity with the principles of Life Restart
  • the avoidance of mass tourism practices
  • the quality and responsibility of the services provided
  • respect for the natural environment and the local community
  • the ability of the business to support the experience of participants

The full list of standards and operational requirements is provided in the Life Restart Partner Guide, which is made available to businesses entering the assessment process.

Each category of business is assessed according to standards that correspond to the nature of its activity.

Assessment Process

he assessment is conducted by authorised representatives of Life Restart.
During the initial stage, the fundamental characteristics of the business and its compatibility with the principles of Life Restart are examined.
The process may include:
  • review of the operation and key characteristics of the business
  • assessment of its compatibility with the principles of Life Restart
  • a possible on-site visit or inspection of the business premises

Following the initial assessment, a technical report is issued outlining the elements that need to be adjusted or strengthened in order for the business to be eligible for inclusion in the Life Restart network.

This report serves as guidance for the next steps required for the business to achieve compliance.

Compliance and Reassessment

The business is required to implement the adjustments and specifications described in the technical report and in the Life Restart Partner Guide.

Once the required actions have been completed, a reassessment is conducted in order to verify that the collaboration requirements have been properly implemented.

The reassessment may be carried out through:
  • submission of documented evidence
  • communication and review of the relevant procedures
  • an on-site visit where deemed necessary

The designation Life Restart Partner is granted only after the business’s compliance with the network’s standards has been confirmed.

Duration of the Collaboration and Monitoring

Following the completion of the compliance process and the confirmation that the collaboration standards have been met, the Life Restart Partner Label is awarded to the business. Upon receiving the designation:
  • the business becomes part of the Life Restart network of partner businesses
  • it gains the right to use the Life Restart Partner Label
  • it may officially refer to itself as a Life Restart Partner

The use of the label is permitted exclusively in accordance with the guidelines provided by Life Restart.

Awarding of the Life Restart Partner Label

The collaboration and the right to use the Life Restart Partner Label are valid for a period of one (1) year from the date of designation.

During this period, Life Restart reserves the right to carry out checks or assessments in order to verify that the agreed collaboration standards are being respected.

Such checks may include:

  • communication and submission of relevant documentation
  • review of collaboration procedures
  • an on-site visit where deemed necessary

At the end of the annual period, the collaboration may be renewed following a reassessment.

Use of the Label and Public Representation

Partner businesses may refer to their collaboration with Life Restart on their websites and communication channels.

In order to ensure consistency and protect the identity of the network, Life Restart provides approved wording and guidelines for the use of the label.

This wording must be used without modification to ensure the consistent and accurate presentation of the collaboration.

Relationship between Life Restart Villages and Life Restart Partners

The recognition of a business as a Life Restart Partner is an independent process from the evaluation of a settlement as a Life Restart Village.

The inclusion of a business in the network requires that its activity and the environment in which it operates are compatible with the core principles of Life Restart.

However, the awarding of the designation to a business does not automatically imply the inclusion of the settlement in the Life Restart Villages network.

Likewise, the recognition of a village as a Life Restart Village does not mean that all businesses within the area are partners of the network.

Each recognition is assessed and granted independently.

Suspension or Termination of the Collaboration

Life Restart reserves the right to suspend or terminate the collaboration with a business that does not comply with the agreed principles and collaboration standards.

In the event of suspension or termination of the collaboration, the right to use the Life Restart Partner Label automatically ceases.

Updating of Procedures

Life Restart reserves the right to update the collaboration procedures and standards in accordance with the evolution of the network and its activities.
